Sister Mabel'S Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 lb. margarine or butter
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    6 qt. freshly popped corn
Preparation
    In 2 1/2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, syrup, butter, cream of tartar and salt.
    Heat to boiling, stirring, over medium-high heat.
    Boil to hard ball stage (260\u00b0).
    Remove from heat; stir in soda and pour at once over popcorn in a large roasting pan.
    Stir to coat.
    Bake in a 200\u00b0 oven for 1 hour, stirring 2 or 3 times.
