Italian Meat Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
    1 (3 oz.) can mushrooms
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/4 c. chopped parsley
    1 1/2 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. olive oil
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1/2 tsp. Accent
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    1 c. water
Preparation
    In large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender. Add meat and garlic; brown lightly.
    Add remaining ingredients. Simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until sauce has thickened, stirring occasionally.
    Remove bay leaf and serve.
