Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    3 c. sugar (scant)
    1 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan.
    Cream butter, shortening, vanilla and sugar (adding small amounts of sugar at a time).
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
    Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour or until cake tester comes out dry.
