Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 gal. pickles
    6 onions
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 qt. crushed ice
    2 c. vinegar
    6 c. water
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. ground mustard or mustard seed
    4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Bring to boil in large container, then add cucumber slices. Heat just to boiling point.
    Do not boil.
    Stir often with wooden spoon.
    Pour into hot jars and seal.
