Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. butter
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. lemon or orange extract
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Cream together sugar, shortening and butter until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
    Stir in vanilla and lemon or orange extract.
    Stir together flour and baking soda.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan.
    Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool on rack.
    Freezes beautifully!
