100-Year-Old Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. butter, melted with 2/3 c. shortening
    4 Tbsp. molasses
    4 Tbsp. water
    4 c. oats
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Sift flour and resift 2 to 3 times with salt, soda and spices. Beat egg; add sugar; mix well.
    Add melted shortening, molasses and water; beat vigorously.
    Add flour mixture.
    Mix well.
    Stir in oats, raisins and nuts.
    Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet.
    (Mash with fork dipped in sugar - optional.)
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
