Mississippi Mud Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 c. plain flour
    1/3 c. cocoa
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/4 tsp. salt
    small marshmallows
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Mix flour, cocoa and salt; add to first mixture.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Pour in greased oblong pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 or 35 minutes.
    Remove from oven and spread marshmallows evenly over cake, return to oven until they melt, about 10 minutes.
    Let cool before icing.
