Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. corn meal
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. water
1 egg, beaten
1 onion, finely chopped or may use onion powder

Preparation

Beat together first 5 ingredients. Blend in egg and onion. With hands, mold mixture into little cakes, about 1 tablespoon each.
Fry in about 1-inch deep fat until well browned. Drain on paper.
Serve hot.
