Tomato Rice Soup With Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sliced bacon, diced
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 c. diced ham
    1 (28 oz.) whole tomatoes
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sweet corn, thawed
    2 c. water
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 chicken bouillon cube
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. Minute original rice, uncooked
Preparation
    Cook bacon in large saucepan on medium heat until lightly browned.
    Add onion and ham; cook and stir until onion is tender. Stir in tomatoes, corn, water, tomato sauce, bouillon cube, thyme and pepper; bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 5 minutes.
    Stir in rice; cover.
    Remove from heat.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Garnish with parsley if desired.
