Caramel Layer Chocolate Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    1/3 to 1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    1/3 c. evaporated milk
    3/4 c. melted butter
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    1 c. chocolate chips (optional)
Preparation
    In a saucepan, melt caramels and 1/2 cup evaporated milk. Set aside. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
