Mincemeat Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. rolled oats
    1 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. moist mincemeat
    1/2 c. ground pecans
Preparation
    Put oats through food chopper on coarse blade.
    Add flour, soda and sugar.
    Mix thoroughly. Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. Divide into 2 parts.
    Pack half firmly in oiled 7 1/2 x 11-inch pan. Spread mincemeat evenly on top, then add remaining dough and pack firmly. Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes. Cool good.
    Cut into 14 to 16 bars.
