Lemon Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 1/4 c. flour
    pinch of salt
    3 2/3 c. water
    4 1/3 c. fresh lemon juice
    4 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1 egg
    1/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients in double boiler.
    Cook until ingredients coat spoon and liquid thickens.
    Add beaten egg with 1/4 cup sugar.
    Cook until thick.
    Remove from heat; add butter or margarine and lemon rind.
    Cool.
    Spread on two layer cake.
