Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. white syrup
    1 1/2 c. condensed milk
    2/3 c. milk or whipping cream
    1/2 c. butter
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter well.
    Add syrup and milk, stir constantly until it boils and stir occasionally.
    Cook until it forms a firm ball in cold water (247\u00b0 to 250\u00b0 or firm ball stage). Add nuts and pour into buttered pan.
