Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
5 egg yolks
2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. milk
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Separate eggs and set aside whites for frosting. Cream sugar, shortening and egg yolks. Add milk and dry ingredients slowly, beating about 3 minutes.
Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch baking pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool when done.
