Portuguese Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 rounds onions, chopped
    2 qt. water
    1/2 lb. kidney beans
    1/2 lb. pinto beans
    1 can stewed tomatoes
    1 Linguosa sausage, chopped
    1 ham shank
    1 oz. parsley, chopped
    1/2 green cabbage, chopped (optional)
    2 Tbsp. beef broth (powder)
    1 1/2 tsp. basil
    1 1/2 tsp. oregano
    1 1/2 tsp. tarragon
    1 1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    noodles or macaroni (optional)
Preparation
    Boil all ingredients except cabbage.
    Put cabbage in about 15 minutes before soup is done.
    Makes about 3 gallons before cooked without cabbage; so a large pot is needed.
