Vanilla Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. half and half
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
    additional 2 c. half and half
Preparation
    In a double boiler, combine sugar, flour and salt.
    Stir in 2 cups half and half.
    Stir-cook over moderate heat until thickened. Cook 2 minutes more.
    Stir small amount of hot mixture into eggs; return this mixture to boiler.
    Cook 1 minute more.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla and additional half and half.
    Chill and freeze.
    Makes 1 1/2 quarts.
