Sour Cream Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, unbeaten
    3 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. thick sour cream
    3/4 c. sweet milk
Preparation
    Sift flour once, measure, add soda and salt and sift together 3 times.
    Cream butter and sugar thoroughly; then chocolate, vanilla and egg; blend well.
    Add flour and milk in small amounts and beat until smooth after each addition.
    Bake in 2 greased 9-inch layer pans in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until done.
    Spread with Deluxe Icing.
