Stupendous, Tomato Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef cubes
    2 Tbsp. seasoned flour
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 can tomato soup
    1 soup can water
    6 small whole white onions
    6 small carrots, cut in half
    3 potatoes, quartered
    1/4 tsp. whole thyme
Preparation
    Dust meat with flour.
    Brown in shortening in large heavy pan. Add soup and water; cover, simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cover, cook 1 hour or until vegetables are tender. Stir now and then.
    Uncover and cook down to desired thickness.
