Ingredients

2 eggs
1 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. shortening, melted
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. milk
Preparation

Beat eggs and sugar; add shortening.
Add flour, sifted with salt, baking powder, and spices, alternately with milk. Roll on lightly floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with doughnut cutter. Fry in deep hot fat (365 to 375 degrees) until brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Makes 3 dozen doughnuts.
