Sweet And Sour Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (8 oz.) can pineapple chunks
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. red wine vinegar
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped bell peppers
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. cold water
cooked chicken, pork or shrimp
Preparation

Drain pineapple reserving 1/3 cup juice.
Halve pineapple chunks.
In a medium saucepan, combine tomato sauce, reserved pineapple juice, brown sugar, vinegar, onion and green peppers. Stir over medium-high heat until mixture boils.
Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water.
Stir mixture until smooth.
Add pineapple, cornstarch mixture and chicken into tomato mixture.
Stir over medium-high until thickened and bubbles.
Makes 3 cups.
Serve over rice.
