Egg With A Hat - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 slice bread
2 Tbsp. butter
1 egg
Preparation

With a 2 1/2-inch round cutter, cut out a circle on the slice of bread.
Melt butter in a heavy frying pan.
Put in both pieces of bread.
Cook over moderate heat until they begin to brown. Break an egg into the hole and sprinkle it with salt and pepper. Continue cooking until the bread is brown.
Turn and brown the other side.
Add butter as needed to keep the bread from sticking. Serve with the cut-out piece on top.
