Peach Float - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. fresh peaches
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Cream first 2 ingredients.
    Sift flour, baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
    Add flour mixture alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
    Beat smooth and pour into buttered baking dish.
    Mix remaining ingredients and pour over dough.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Serve warm with ice cream or hard sauce.
