Favorite Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. lean beef, cut into chunks
1 can green beans
1/2 tsp. thyme
4 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
4 medium tomatoes, peeled and quartered
salt and pepper
1 small bay leaf
4 medium onions, cut into quarters
Preparation

Brown beef slowly on all sides; season to taste with salt and pepper.
Add liquid from green beans, 1 small bay leaf, 1/2 teaspoon thyme.
Cover; simmer 30 minutes.
Add onions; simmer 30 minutes more.
Add potatoes and simmer until almost tender.
About 15 minutes before serving time, add green beans and tomatoes. Taste and correct seasoning before serving.
