Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 large clove garlic, finely minced
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 (15 oz.) can or 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1 (30 oz.) can Joan of Arc chili beans
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed
    1 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. cumin
    1/8 tsp. hot pepper, flaked, or 1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
    10 whole cloves
    10 whole allspice
    2 whole bay leaves
Preparation
    Put cloves and allspice in a metal tea ball or tie them in a cheesecloth bag for easy removal.
