Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. cornmeal
    1 1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1 egg
    4 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and cornmeal.
    Beat the egg until light and add it to the dry ingredients with the milk and melted shortening.
    Beat thoroughly and bake in moderate oven.
