Potatoes Laritan - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. package frozen hash browns
    1/2 c. yellow onion, finely chopped
    1/4 c. green onions finely chopped (include some green tops for color)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter
    16 oz carton sour cream
    1 can Cream of chicken soup
    2 c. corn flakes, crushed
Preparation
    Saute onions in 1/4 c. butter.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    In a large bowl, mix soup and sour cream.
    Stir well but do not over-stir, as the cream will break down.
    Stir in the onion mixture and add the potatoes.
    Mix well and pour into a 13 x 9 baking dish.
    Melt the remaining 1/4 c. butter and mix with the crushed corn flakes.
    Sprinkle on top and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    It bubbles up, so make sure the pan is deep enough.
