Mom'S White Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. ice water
    2 tsp. baking powder
    4 egg whites
Preparation
    Sift flour, then measure.
    Add baking powder and sift once more.
    Cream sugar and butter thoroughly.
    Add flour and water, beating well after each addition of flour.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Flavor to taste.
