4-Day Sweet Gherkins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 qt. (about 5 lb.) 1 1/2 to 3-inch cukes
1/2 c. salt (pure)
8 c. sugar
6 c. vinegar
3/4 tsp. turmeric
2 tsp. celery seed
2 tsp. whole mixed spice
3 (1-inch) pieces cinnamon sticks
Preparation

First Day (Morning):
Wash cukes.
Place in container and cover with boiling water.
Six to 8 hours later (p.m.), drain. Cover with fresh, boiling water.
