Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins, cut up (seedless)
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/2 c. soft shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. canned sweetened applesauce
Preparation
    Combine raisins and nuts in a bowl.
    Sift flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves together over fruit-nut mixture and toss together.
    Beat shortening, sugar and egg together until fluffy. Add this mixture with applesauce; beat or blend well.
    Pour or spoon into a greased loaf pan.
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a toothpick stuck in the center comes out clean.
    Cool and turn out pan.
