Pickled Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. sliced squash
    2 c. sliced onions
    1 tbsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1/2 c. chopped sweet gr pepper
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Sprinkle salt over squash and onions. Let stand 1 hr.
    Combine remaining ingreds. in large saucepan and bring to boil. When boiling pour over squash and onions. Return mixture to pan and bring to a boil. Pack in jars and seal.
    Yield 4 pints.
