Pears Poached In Wine Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 ripe pears
    1 c. Bordeaux wine
    1 c. sugar
    1 cinnamon stick
    1 strip lemon rind
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Peel pears. Combine wine, sugar, lemon and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil.
    Add pears.
    Cover and poach until just tender. Remove pears.
    Mix cornstarch with a small amount of water, then add to wine mixture.
    Cook, stirring until clear and thickened. Arrange pears on serving dish and spoon over wine sauce.
