Kahlua - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. sugar
    4 c. water
    1 vanilla bean
    2 Tbsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. instant coffee
    1/2 gal. vodka
Preparation
    Bring sugar and water to boil. Chop vanilla bean; add it and vanilla to boiling sugar water. Boil 10 minutes. Add coffee. Stir. Remove from heat. Let cool. Add vodka. Pour into a gallon jug or 2 1/2 gallon jugs. Shake daily for 2 weeks, then strain through cheesecloth into bottles for storage.
