Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large fryer
    1/2 c. milk (approximately)
    1 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
    1 tsp. black pepper
    2 c. plain flour
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 chopped onion
Preparation
    Place cut-up fryer in enough water to cover it all.
    Add salt, pepper and onion.
    Boil until tender, but not falling apart. Remove chicken from broth, but save broth.
    Skim off excess fat.
