Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Melt margarine over low heat.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in sugar until blended, cool.
    Stir in egg.
    Blend flour, baking soda and salt together.
    Blend into margarine mixture.
    Mix in vanilla and nuts.
    Spread into well-greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Bake for 25 minutes.
    Do not overbake.
    Cut in bars while warm.
    Makes 18 bars.
