Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. strawberries
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cover strawberries with water and bring almost to a boil. (Scald for about 2 minutes.)
    Drain berries and return to pan. Add 4 cups sugar; boil 3 or 4 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    When mixture stops bubbling, add 2 more cups sugar.
    Boil 7 to 10 minutes.
    Spread on tray or in shallow pan.
    Cool overnight.
    Put in jars.
