Hot Spiced Cider - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. apple cider
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    2 (3-inch) pieces stick cinnamon
    1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    few grains of salt
Preparation
    Bring all ingredients to boiling in a large saucepan.
    Simmer covered for 30 minutes.
    Remove spices.
    Serve hot.
    Garnish with slices of unpared red apples.
    Makes 2 quarts.
