Cole Slaw(No Mayonnaise) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cabbage, approximately 3 lb.
    1 green pepper (medium)
    1 (2 oz.) can pimento
    2 onions (medium)
    1 c. salad oil
    1 c. white vinegar
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper, freshly ground
Preparation
    Shred cabbage.
    Finely chop pepper, pimento and onions.
    Boil together 1 minute: salad oil, vinegar, sugar, celery seed, salt and pepper.
    Pour over vegetables.
    Mix well.
    Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
    Keeps up to two weeks.
    Gets better daily.
    Can substitute fresh red sweet pepper for pimiento.
