Cranberry Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour, sifted
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1 Tbsp. orange rind, grated
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1 1/2 c. raw cranberries, chopped
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Preheat
    oven
    to 350\u00b0.
    Sift together in a mixing bowl the flour,
    sugar, baking powder, salt and soda.
    Stir in the orange juice,
    rind,
    shortening
    and
    egg.
    Mix
    until
    well blended. Stir
    in
    chopped cranberries and nuts.
    Turn into a greased
    9
    x 5-inch
    pan.
    Bake
    for
    55 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    Cool on rack for 15 minutes, then remove from pan.
