Green Beans A La Spitzer - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (16 oz.) bag frozen green beans
1 (16 oz.) pkg. chopped bacon
5 large cloves freshly squeezed garlic or to taste
1 (16 oz.) can whole peeled tomatoes
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts (diced potatoes can be substituted)
Preparation

In Dutch oven, brown the bacon crisp and remove onto paper towel.
Pour out some grease.
Keep the bottom of the Dutch oven covered with bacon grease.
Put in green beans, garlic and water chestnuts.
Let simmer awhile.
Add tomatoes.
If you use potatoes, put them in now.
Add olive oil.
Cook until potatoes are cooked to your liking.
Even the kids like green beans like this.
