Scratch Coconut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening together.
    Add milk, eggs, soda, vanilla and flour.
    Beat at high speed for 2 1/2 minutes.
    Pour into 3 (8-inch) cake pans (with flour and shortening).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until done.
