Mulled Cider - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. apple cider
    2 cinnamon sticks
    8 whole cloves
    2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
    several small red apples, studded with cloves
    cinnamon stick stirrers
Preparation
    Simmer apple cider, 2 cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and granulated sugar for 30 minutes.
    Discard cinnamon sticks and cloves, then pour into a heatproof serving bowl.
    Add several small apples studded with cloves (they'll float).
    Serve hot cider in mugs with cinnamon stick stirrers.
    Serves 8.
