Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter (not margarine)
    6 eggs, beaten separately (add whites last)
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 lb. pecans
    1 lb. dates
    1 lb. raisins
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. plain flour
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolks and vanilla.
    Add dry ingredients and then egg whites.
    Batter will be real stiff.* Bake in 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 oven in tube pan for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
    Let cool 20 to 25 minutes in pan.
