Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. corn meal
1 1/2 c. water
3/4 c. milk
2 eggs, beaten
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
4 tsp. finely chopped onion
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
frying oil

Preparation

Combine corn meal and water over a low fire until water is cooked down.
Add milk, oil, eggs and onion.
Mix in all dry ingredients with corn meal mixture.
Drop spoonfuls into 375\u00b0 oil and fry until crispy golden brown.
Drain and serve immediately.
