Date Pecan Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. margarine
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. water
1/2 lb. chopped dates
1/2 lb. chopped candied cherries
2 c. chopped pecans
3 c. flour
dash of salt
Preparation

Combine margarine and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
Combine baking soda and water.
Add to beaten mixture.
Add vanilla and dash of salt, then add dates, cherries and pecans. Mix well.
Add flour and mix well.
Press dough in greased jelly roll pan.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Cool completely in pan. Cut into bars.
