Never Fail Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. butter
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 (1 lb. 2 oz.) can pineapple, drained
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    2/3 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy 10-inch skillet or square pan.
    Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over butter.
    Arrange pineapple in pattern over brown sugar.
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together; add shortening, milk and vanilla.
    Beat for 2 minutes.
    Add egg; beat 2 more minutes.
    Pour over fruit.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes.
    Turn cake upside-down on serving plate.
    Leave pan over cake for 10 minutes.
    Remove pan; serve warm.
