Fried Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    2/3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. margarine, melted
    1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 egg
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Add combined milk, margarine and egg, mixing until moistened.
    Stir in cheese.
    For each serving, spoon approximately 1/4 cup mixture onto hot, lightly greased griddle. Flatten slightly.
    Cook until lightly browned on both sides.
    Serve warm with butter.
    If batter becomes too thick, add small amount of milk.
    Makes 20 servings.
