Skillet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
    1 pt. moist fruit
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 beaten egg
    1/2 c. sweet milk
    1 1/2 c. pastry flour, with 2 tsp. baking powder sifted in
Preparation
    In a skillet, melt together brown sugar and 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, then add moist fruit (dried fruit may be used if cooked until tender).
    Make a batter as follows.
    Cream together sugar and 3 tablespoons butter; add egg, milk and pastry flour.
    Pour this into the skillet over the melted butter and brown sugar. Bake in moderate oven.
    When done, turn out on a large plate, bottom side up and your cake is already iced.
    Serve hot or cold with whipped cream or plain.
