Mother Anderson'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
1 egg
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 sticks margarine
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
2 c. chopped pecans
2 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
