Butter Cookie Christmas Cut-Outs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream the margarine.
    Add confectioners sugar gradually and cream until fluffy.
    Add unbeaten egg and vanilla; beat well. Stir together the dry ingredients; blend into cream mixture. Chill dough about an hour.
    Roll on well-floured pastry board to 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut with floured cookie cutter.
    Bake on an unbuttered cookie sheet approximately 5 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    Yield: 6 dozen cookies (depends on the cutter).
