Buttermilk Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 stick butter
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. buttermilk
    1/3 c. dark Karo syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts (if desired)
Preparation
    Cook all ingredients except nuts until it forms a firm ball; let it cool for 15 minutes.
    Add nuts.
    Use large pan.
